Hazy conditions likely in the Terai today

KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the partial influence of a westerly wind system, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

As a result, fog and mist have been observed in some parts of the Terai, while the weather remains partly cloudy in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has forecast that hazy and misty conditions will prevail in most areas of the Terai throughout the afternoon, which may affect visibility, particularly during morning and evening hours.

In the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, while the rest of the hilly and mountainous regions across the country will generally experience fair and clear weather.

Tonight, fog is likely to intensify in most parts of the Terai, potentially impacting transportation and daily activities. Meanwhile, the weather in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces is expected to remain partly cloudy, with mainly clear skies elsewhere in the hills and mountains.

Meteorologists have advised residents, especially in the Terai region, to remain cautious due to reduced visibility caused by fog and haze, particularly during early morning and nighttime hours.
