KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala met party president Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday to discuss issues related to active membership distribution and the central disciplinary committee’s recommended revocation of certain party actions.
Dr. Koirala, accompanied by central member Dr. Minendra Rijal, raised concerns over the distribution of membership forms without serial numbers, which had been sent to districts by the active membership distribution committee. He said the unnumbered forms have created nationwide complications within the party.
Koirala urged President Deuba to recall the unnumbered forms immediately and issue new forms, stating that the ongoing general convention process cannot proceed based on incomplete forms.
He also highlighted the disciplinary actions recommended by the central committee, arguing that all pending actions should be revoked. Koirala suggested that the party should focus on the upcoming general convention and the next national elections, noting that it is inappropriate to pursue actions related to alliances formed during the 2022 elections at this stage.
According to party sources, President Deuba indicated that he would review the matters raised and take the necessary decisions after discussion.
