PM Karki holds four-minute telephone conversation with Sri Lankan counterpart



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a telephone conversation with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on Wednesday.

During the call, Prime Minister Amarasuriya expressed gratitude for Nepal’s support of USD 200,000 to assist Sri Lanka’s rescue and relief efforts following recent floods.

In response, Prime Minister Karki said that neighboring countries must stand by each other during times of crisis. “It is our duty to extend support when a neighbor faces difficulties. We stand with you in this challenging moment,” she stated.

Prime Minister Karki also briefed her Sri Lankan counterpart about the Gen-Z movement and the situation that has emerged in Nepal thereafter.

The brief telephone conversation between the two leaders began at around 8:15 PM and lasted approximately four minutes.
