Indian Ambassador pays courtesy call on Health Minister Sharma



KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy call on Minister for Health and Population Dr. Sudha Sharma today.

During the meeting at the Ministry, the two sides discussed ways to make the existing bilateral partnership in the health sector more sustainable and effective, said Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki.

Minister Sharma expressed her gratitude for the deep ties between Nepal and India and for India’s continued support in the health sector. She highlighted maternal and child health, mental health, health insurance, enhancing the testing capacity of the National Drug Laboratory, and improving the health of Nepali migrant workers as key priorities for the ministry.

Reiterating the importance of India-Nepal relations, Ambassador Srivastava affirmed India’s commitment to supporting the construction of buildings, provision of necessary equipment, and training of human resources to upgrade the National Drug Laboratory.
