RSP removes provincial in-charges, to appoint central members in their place

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has relieved all seven provincial in-charges of their responsibilities as part of an organizational restructuring aimed at strengthening party unity and preparing for upcoming elections.

A Secretariat meeting held on Tuesday thanked the outgoing in-charges and decided that central committee members will now be appointed to oversee provincial leadership roles. The outgoing in-charges included Santosh Pariyar in Koshi, Manish Jha in Madhesh, Lima Adhikari in Bagmati, Shishir Khanal in Gandaki, Bipin Acharya in Lumbini, Ganesh Parajuli in Karnali and Hari Dhakal in Sudurpaschim. Pariyar had already resigned from the party earlier.

The Secretariat discussed ongoing political dialogue efforts, with the High-Level Dialogue Committee briefing the meeting on talks with various parties, groups and individuals. The party said it would work to bring potential political collaborations to a logical conclusion and called on all alternative forces committed to good governance and rapid development to unite.

The meeting also decided to recommend qualified central committee members to fill vacant positions in the party’s Central Discipline Commission, Election Commission and Audit Commission.

As part of the organizational restructuring, the party said outgoing provincial in-charges would be given roles focused on the upcoming elections, while provincial in-charges will now be selected from among central committee members.

RSP has also decided to form Rapid Action Teams (RATs) in all municipalities across the country, with instructions to be issued to provincial and district committees.

Based on performance evaluation and in line with Article 70 of the party statute, the meeting dissolved the Kirtipur Municipal Committee. The party had recently withdrawn from contesting the by-election in Kirtipur.
