International Rafting Challenge from October 25

POKHARA: The Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) Gandaki State is organizing a Kayaking Challenge, a rafting competition of an international standard.

The event ‘Kasanga Challenge’ will be held on October 25-26, the organizer has said.

The event will be held under men’s and women’s categories, according to NARA Gandaki chairperson Birendra Lama.

The event involves seven and a half kilometers cycling from Hallanchowk of Pokhara to Yamdi Dobhan, race on six kilometers from Yamdi Dohbhan to Mardi River Dobhan and river race on eight kilometers from Mardi River Dobhan to Yamdi Dobhan.

The organizers said the winner will get a cash prize of Rs 100 thousand while the first and second runner-ups will receive Rs 50 thousand and Rs 25 thousand, respectively.

Participants coming out the first, second and third in both cycling and running will receive Rs 30 thousand, Rs 20 thousand and Rs 10 thousand respectively.

A total of 200 participants from Nepal, India, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Austria, Argentina, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand will be participating in the event.
