Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund receives Rs 93 million



KATHMANDU: The Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund has received an additional Rs 10.1 million from Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Nepal on Sunday. LIC Nepal CEO Pranaya Kumar handed over the payment voucher to Finance Minister Rameshwore Prasad Khanal.

The government established the fund to support the reconstruction of physical structures damaged during the arson and vandalism incidents that occurred amid the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9.

Similarly, employees of F1Soft International, eSewa, and Fonepay Payment Service Limited have contributed Rs 7.5 million to the fund. F1Soft Group Chairman Siddhantha Thakuri handed over the cheque to Minister Khanal on November 19.

According to Finance Ministry spokesperson Tanka Prasad Pandey, the fund has collected a total of Rs 93 million as of Sunday. A bank account (1960100102070004) has been opened at Rastriya Banijya Bank’s Singha Durbar branch to receive contributions.

The government has appealed to provincial and local governments, the private sector, Nepali and foreign citizens, the non-resident Nepali community, friendly nations, development partners, and international organizations to support the reconstruction, economic recovery, and relief efforts under the fund.
