Chandrayaan-2: NASA could not find Vikram lander images

NEW DELHI: The US space agency NASA could not locate India’s Vikram lunar lander.

Even though the NASA spacecraft took photos of the Chandrayaan-2 lander landing site earlier this month, the images do not show the images of Vikram lander, international media reports have said.

According to NASA, the images could not be found because the Vikram lander could either be lying in a shadowed part of the Moon or because the Chandrayaan-2 lander should be located outside the area NASA photographed.

The Vikram lander had lost contact with Earth on September 7 this year during its descent on to the lunar surface.(Agencies)
