NPL: Lumbini Lions and Chitwan Rhinos to clash today

KATHMANDU: Lumbini Lions and Chitwan Rhinos are set to face off today (Thursday) in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The match will begin at 4 PM at the TU Cricket Ground. Lumbini will be led by national team captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, while Chitwan will be captained by rising star Kushal Malla.

Chitwan enter the match with strong momentum after defeating Karnali Yaks in their opening game to secure two points. Lumbini, meanwhile, will be looking to make a strong start in their first match of the season.

Chitwan Rhinos appear well-balanced with a mix of Nepali and international talent. Kushal Malla leads the team, with Umesh Patwal serving as head coach. England’s Rabi Bopara has already showcased his class in the first match, while Pakistan’s Sohail Tanbir could pose a major threat to Lumbini.

Meanwhile, after winning just one game in the first edition of the NPL, Lumbini Lions will be eager for a strong start this season. Former national star Shakti Gauchan is providing specialized coaching and support, with national team skipper Rohit Paudel serving as the marquee player.
