KMC issues 42,856 electronic recommendations in ten months

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued 42,856 electronic recommendations through its digital system since its launch on January 26, 2025.

According to Anirudra Nepal, Chief of KMC’s Information Technology Department, a total of 20,398 applications were received in the current fiscal year alone. The system currently covers 195 types of services, allowing citizens to apply and receive approvals online.

The electronic system was introduced to revise and improve the Recommendation and Certification Management System for better digital service delivery. Nepal emphasized that full online implementation helps resolve many issues for citizens, noting that people no longer need to physically visit offices or wait in long queues to obtain services.

This step reflects KMC’s ongoing push toward digitization of municipal services and streamlined administrative processes.
