17 people die in road accidents in four months in Jhapa



JHAPA: Seventeen people have lost their lives in road accidents in Jhapa over the past four months.

According to Chief Police Inspector Santosh Rai of the District Traffic Police Office, accidents recorded in the last four months of the current fiscal year resulted in 17 fatalities, 29 serious injuries, and 670 minor injuries.

Inspector Rai said the highest number of deaths occurred in the Nepali month of Asoj, with six fatalities. majority of accidents involved two-wheelers.

A total of 345 accidents involved 488 vehicles, including 326 two-wheelers, 93 four-wheelers, 34 medium-sized vehicles, 32 large vehicles, and three vehicles that could not be identified, Rai said.
