Man killed after being hit by vehicle of Maoist leader Indra Bahadur Angbo



BIRATNAGAR: A man died after being hit by a vehicle belonging to Maoist leader and Koshi Province Parliamentary Party leader Indra Bahadur Angbo on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred at Kakharmari in Gramthan-5 along the Ghinaghat–Biratchowk road section, when an SUV (Province 1 Ja 650) carrying Angbo’s secretariat member Poojan Magranti struck Pravesh Chaudhary, a local resident of Gramthan, police said.

According to police, Chaudhary was hit while crossing the road at around 11:30 a.m. He was rushed to Birat Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Leader Angbo, who was attending a meeting in Sundar Haraicha at the time, said in a social media post that he would fully cooperate in the legal process. He also expressed deep condolences and pledged support for providing compensation to the victim’s family.

Police have taken both the driver, Magranti, and the vehicle into custody for investigation.
