KATHMANDU: In what can be termed as disrespect to Hindu festival Tihar, the Embassy of Pakistan is marking ‘Kashmir Black Day’ on October 31, on the day when Nepali Hindus have been celebrating the festival.
This indicates that Pakistanis have no respect for Hindu festivals. It should be noted that the Hindu population in Pakistan has declined from 19 percent (during the time of independence in 1947) to 1 percent currently.
Other minority groups, too, such as Sikhs, Christians, Ahamadiyas and soft Muslims have seen a decline in recent years.
In the last three months, five cases of forceful conversions (from Hindu to Muslim) have been taken place in Pakistan. Likewise, two Sikh families have been forcefully converted into Islam.
It should also be noted that in the India-administered Jammu and Kashmir, around 1.50 lakh Hindu Pandits were tortured, killed and their wives and daughters were raped by Islamic terrorists mobilized by Pakistan.
In Kashmir, the population of Muslims has grown from 50 percent to 75 percent.
