UML holding demonstrations across 753 local units as part of national campaign

KATHMANDU: As part of its nationwide campaign against what it calls reactionary conspiracies, the CPN-UML is organizing demonstrations across all 753 local units today.

According to the party’s Department of Publicity and Publication Chief Rajendra Gautam, ward-level gatherings have already been completed in all 6,743 wards across the country.

These meetings briefed party cadres on the latest political developments following September 9, the unconstitutional dissolution of parliament, and UML’s future course.

Gautam informed that in today’s events, some municipalities are organizing motorcycle rallies to demonstrate UML’s strength, while others are holding rallies and processions at their local centers.

The party’s central office has issued slogans to awaken the people and instructed participants to carry UML flags during demonstrations. Each program will conclude with a brief corner meeting where local leaders will explain the party’s stance on current political issues.

UML has also directed members to share photos and videos of the demonstrations on social media and send them to media outlets.

Today’s demonstrations will serve as a prelude to the district-level mass meetings scheduled for November 15 and a grand rally in Kathmandu on November 22, which the UML says will help build momentum ahead of its upcoming national convention.
