Madhesh CM Jitendra Sonal resigns after failing to secure vote of confidence

JANAKPUR: Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Jitendra Sonal, has resigned from his post after realizing he would not secure a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly.

Sonal submitted his resignation to Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal earlier today. A meeting of the Provincial Assembly had been scheduled for Saturday, where Sonal was set to seek a vote of confidence.

However, anticipating insufficient support, he walked out of the assembly session before the vote took place.
