Leftist parties, including Maoist Center and Unified Socialist, unite to form Nepal Communist Party

Ten leftist political parties, including the CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist), have announced their unification to form a new political force named the Nepal Communist Party. The unification was announced during a special ceremony held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, on Wednesday. The alliance includes the Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, Nepal Socialist Party, Janasamajbadi Party Nepal, Nepal Communist Party, CPN (Maoist Socialist), and CPN (Samyabadi), among others.

Prachanda selected coordinator, Madhav Nepal co-coordinator of newly unified Nepali Communist Party

Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been chosen as the coordinator and Madhav Kumar Nepal as the co-coordinator of the newly formed Nepali Communist Party, created through the merger of ten communist parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the CPN (Unified Socialist). The decisions were made unanimously during the unity convention held at Bhrikutimandap on Wednesday. The convention also endorsed the party’s interim statute and declared that all central committee members of the participating parties are now officially members of the unified Nepali Communist Party.

Prachanda: Our party is now the number one in the country

Co-ordinator of the newly formed Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has declared that the newly unified party will emerge as the country’s leading political force. Addressing a ceremony marking the unification of ten leftist parties, Prachanda said the party will become Nepal’s number one political organization after the upcoming elections.

CM Surendra Pandey urges Congress to move ahead with unity, hints elections likely on March 5

Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Pandey has called on the Nepali Congress to act realistically and move forward through collective consensus, suggesting that the next elections are likely to be held on March 5. Speaking at the meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee, Pandey said government reports indicate that preparations are underway for elections in March, and that the Congress should not conclude that elections won’t happen.

Nepal exports frozen French fries to the US for the first time

Frozen French fries worth Rs 5.48 million have been exported to the United States for the first time through the Bhairahawa Customs Office. According to the office, two containers, totaling 43,520 kilograms, of frozen French fries produced by First Choice Foods Pvt. Ltd., based in Rupandehi, were shipped to Genco LLC, a company based in the United States. In a statement, the Bhairahawa Customs Office said the entry of Nepali-produced food items into a highly competitive market like the US marks a significant achievement for the country’s industrial development. The move is expected to contribute to foreign currency earnings and promote entrepreneurship in Nepal.

Free Wi-Fi  in public places and remote areas: Communications Minister

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has said that the government is committed to expanding free Wi-Fi internet service in major public places of the country. While inspecting the free Wi-Fi internet service provided in public places in Kathmandu today, he expressed his commitment to continue working as a campaign to expand internet access in sensitive and important public places in the federal capital Kathmandu as well as in rural areas outside Kathmandu.

Former Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha has expressed concern that Nepal has repeatedly undergone transitional phases, hindering the country’s stability and development. Health Minister Dr Sharma reshuffles Divisional Heads

The Ministry of Health and Population has reshuffled the responsibilities of various department heads. Ministry Spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki said that the responsibilities of senior-level employees were reassigned by a ministerial decision with the aim of making the work related to the ministry more effective, efficient and organised. Bodies of two foreign tourists and guide brought to Teaching Hospital for post-mortem

The bodies of two foreign tourists and a local guide, who tragically lost their lives in an avalanche near Yalung Ri Himal in the Rolwaling region, have been transported to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem. Nepal Bar Association expresses concern over ambassador recall amid ongoing Supreme Court case

Gold price drops by Rs 1,100 in local market

The price of gold fell slightly in the local market on Wednesday, decreasing by Rs 1,100 per tola. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Entrepreneurs Association, gold was traded at Rs 237,200 per tola today. On Tuesday, the price was Rs 238,300 per tola.

Nepali Congress Central Committee meeting continues, two proposals for 15th General Convention presented

UML sets seven criteria for selecting representatives to 11th General Convention

The CPN-UML has set seven criteria for the selection of representatives to its upcoming 11th General Convention. The party issued an Antar Party Nirdeshan (APANI), an internal directive, outlining these criteria and dispatched them to its subordinate committees. According to the party’s Secretariat, the UML’s 11th General Convention will be held in Kathmandu from December 13 to 15. The selection of representatives across the country has been scheduled for November 29.

Nepal, India agree on seven-point plan to strengthen energy cooperation

Nepal and India have reached a seven-point agreement aimed at further strengthening bilateral energy cooperation, including electricity exchange and cross-border transmission network expansion. The agreement was finalized during the 17th meeting of the Joint Technical Team on Nepal-India Energy Cooperation, held in Pokhara on November 3 and 4. The meeting was co-chaired by Sandeep Kumar Dev, Joint Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, and Bhagwan Sahay Bhairava, Chief Engineer at India’s Central Electricity Authority.

NEPSE rises by 12.17 points, turnover reaches Rs 4.68 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 12.17 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,607.42 points. According to NEPSE, a total of Rs 4.68 billion worth of shares were traded during the day. Out of the listed companies, share prices of 149 increased, 90 declined, and 12 remained unchanged. With the market’s rise, all sub-indices except Hotels and Tourism and Mutual Fund groups witnessed gains.
