Ram Kumari Jhakri says dreadful journey with Unified Socialist has ended

KATHMANDU: Ram Kumari Jhakri has said that the journey she had begun with fear of being dreadful has now come to an end.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Jhakri made the remark after deciding to return to the CPN-UML, following her party’s decision to unify with nine leftist forces including the CPN (Maoist Center).

“In the beginning, we believed the campaign we had embarked on might be terrifying,” she said. “That campaign has now ended. Our chapter has concluded. The party has been dissolved.”

Recalling the moment when she accompanied Madhav Kumar Nepal to the Election Commission during the split of the UML, Jhakri said that she was unfairly portrayed as one of the main figures responsible for the party’s division.

“I was blamed as being mainly responsible for the split just because of a photo,” she clarified, adding, “That was merely a symbolic image.”
