World Cup League-2: Nepal to face UAE today

KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on host nation UAE today in the final match of the Tri-nation ICC World Cup Cricket League-2 series. The game is scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m. Nepali time at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Nepal enters the match under pressure after suffering three consecutive defeats in the ongoing series. The team lost to the United States by 106 runs in the first match, to the UAE by 5 wickets in the second, and again to the US by 4 wickets in the third.

The UAE, too, faces mounting pressure to secure a win at home. Among the three participating teams — the US, Nepal, and the UAE — the US remains unbeaten and leads the standings with 36 points from 24 matches.

Nepal has 12 points from 19 games, while the UAE sits at the bottom with just 8 points from the same number of matches. Despite having played three matches in the UAE leg, Nepal is yet to add a single point to its tally.
