Home Minister directs officials to ensure security for private sector



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has instructed authorities to enhance coordination for the security of the private sector, citing rising security concerns following the protests on September 8 and 9.

The directive was issued in a circular sent to the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of all 77 districts. In the circular, the Home Minister directed the CDOs to hold necessary discussions on the damages caused by the protests and assess the current situation of the private sector to ensure adequate security measures are in place.

The letter, sent through the Peace, Security, and Crime Control Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs, also calls for meetings of the District Security Committee under the coordination of the respective CDOs, with the participation of local business organizations including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to make necessary security arrangements.
