Biplav announces Leninist shift, says party will contest elections under unified front

KATHMANDU: Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has announced that his party will move forward to register and participate in the upcoming elections by redefining the Leninist approach to parliament, elections, and government.

In a Facebook post today, Biplav stated that the party is transitioning from the traditional Leninist use or boycott stance toward elections to a new model aligned with the school of unified people’s revolution. He said this approach embraces the electoral front as part of a broader political struggle.

“We have decided to register the party and move ahead in the electoral front by internalizing it as part of the overall struggle, in line with the school of unified people’s revolution,” he wrote.

Biplav also expressed his commitment to work together with patriotic, socialist, and communist forces to defend national sovereignty, advance socialism rooted in Nepali characteristics, and fight for education and employment opportunities for the youth.

On Tuesday, a delegation led by party spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma submitted an application to the Election Commission to register the party under the name Communist Party of Nepal.
