Third day of Chhath Puja: Devotees offer arghya to setting sun (Photos)

KATHMANDU: On Monday, the third day of Chhath Puja was observed by offering prayers to the setting sun. Devotees gathered at riverbanks, ponds, and lakes, where decorated ghats with banana stems and flickering lamps were prepared to offer arghya (ritual offerings) to both the setting and rising sun.

The accompanying photos were captured at Kamalpokhari in Kathmandu. This year, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has designated eight locations for Chhath celebrations.
