Gold price drops by Rs 2,000 per tola



KATHMANDU: The price of gold has decreased by Rs 2,000 per tola in the domestic market on Monday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs 239,900 per tola, down from Rs 241,900 per tola on the previous trading day.

On Sunday, the price had already fallen sharply by Rs 11,600 per tola. In total, since the end of the Tihar festival, gold has declined by Rs 13,600 per tola.

Earlier, on October 17, gold had reached a record high of Rs 258,000 per tola, the highest price ever recorded in the Nepali market.

Meanwhile, silver prices have also edged lower by Rs 35 per tola, dropping from Rs 3,015 to Rs 2,980 per tola, according to the federation.
