PM urges parties to treat upcoming elections as nat’l festival

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged all political parties and citizens to view the upcoming elections as a national celebration of democracy and to actively participate in ensuring their success.

Extending greetings on the occasion of the Chhath festival on Monday morning, Prime Minister Karki called on the public to express their views and grievances through the ballot in the election scheduled for March 5, 2026.

“Street protests alone cannot solve every problem,” she said in her message. “If anyone has a position or dissatisfaction, the most democratic way is to win the hearts of the people and seek their approval through the election process. Therefore, I appeal to all parties to regard the upcoming elections as a national ritual and contribute to making them successful.”
