President Bhandari and Japanese PM Abe meet

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a meeting at State Guest House Akasaka Palace in Tokyo on Monday morning.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Nepal’s Ambassador to Japan Pratibha Rana, among others were also present on the occasion.

A Nepali delegation led by President Bhandari arrived in Japan’s capital, Tokyo, on Sunday to attend Japan’s Emperor Naruhito’s enthronement ceremony.

President Bhandari arrived in Japan on Sunday night after wrapping up her five-day state visit to Myanmar at the friendly invitation of the President of Myanmar, U Win Myint.

The enthronement ceremony is taking place at Imperial Palace at 1.00 pm local time on October 22.

The Nepali delegation is scheduled to return home on October 23 after attending the enthronement ceremony.
