KATHMANDU: The Nursing Association of Nepal has called for the implementation of the remuneration scale determined by the government.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the association said that although the interim government on October 10 instructed hospitals to enforce the minimum salary provisions, many hospitals have ignored the directive.
According to the association, most health institutions have yet to implement the minimum salary and benefits fixed by the government on December 12, 2024 (Mangsir 27, 2081).
Despite the government’s decision setting the fifth-level salary at around Rs 34,000, many nurses are still being paid as little as Rs 15,000, the association stated.
It further informed that nurses and other health workers across teaching, government, private, and community hospitals are currently protesting, demanding full implementation of the minimum pay scale.
