Khongtang–Khawa Bhangyang road upgraded

BHOJPUR: The rural road connecting Khawa Bhangyang via Khongtang, Hunge, and Cholanti in Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality, Bhojpur, has been successfully upgraded, significantly improving local transportation.

Previously, the road was difficult to navigate, especially for vehicles. However, with the application of gravel, along with the construction of side drains and retaining walls, it is now much more accessible for the general public.

The road, which used to become muddy during the rainy season and dusty in the winter, has now been made safer and more convenient, making daily travel, economic activities, and access to essential services much easier for local residents.

Thanks to the upgrade, farmers can now reach markets more efficiently, students can attend schools without difficulty, and patients can travel to health institutions in a timely manner.

Approximately nine kilometers of the road—from Khongtang to Khawa Bhangyang—have been improved at a total cost of Rs. 35 million. According to Village Chairman Saroj Basnet, the project was implemented using federal government funds at the initiative of the village council.

This road serves as the primary connection between the western part of the rural municipality and the Bhojpur district headquarters. Local resident Ramesh Bista remarked that the upgrade has brought a noticeable improvement in the daily lives of the people.

“Previously, even walking was a struggle for the sick, elderly, or people with disabilities,” he said. “Now, with vehicles running smoothly, it has brought immense relief to all of us.”
