PM Karki directs temporary premises for courts to ensure uninterrupted service

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said judicial services should not be disrupted even for a single day.

At a joint meeting with the board of directors of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and a Supreme Court delegation, PM Karki insisted that court services must continue uninterrupted.

The meeting, organized to discuss alternative arrangements after damage to the Kathmandu District Court building, was convened by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

Supreme Court Chief Registrar Bimal Paudel had requested that CAAN provide its Babarmhal premises to temporarily house court operations. In response, PM Karki directed the authority to make the building available, stressing that judicial services cannot be halted.

A conditional agreement has now been reached for CAAN to provide temporary premises, following coordination between the court and the authority under the Prime Minister’s guidance.
