British envoy Fenn calls on PM Karki, assures of necessary support to conduct polls



KATHMANDU: The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Nepal, Rob Fenn, along with his delegation, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki today.

During the meeting took place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister Karki stated that promoting good governance and ensuring the successful conduct of the upcoming election were the main priorities of the current government, which was formed under exceptional circumstances. She reaffirmed the government’s firm commitment to holding the election in a free, fair, and impartial manner on the scheduled date of March 5, 2026.

The two sides also reflected on the longstanding and cordial relationship between Nepal and the United Kingdom, which dates back to historic times, and expressed mutual interest in further strengthening ties in the future.

On the occasion, Ambassador Fenn extended his best wishes for Prime Minister Karki’s successful tenure. He also assured her that the British government is ready to provide necessary support to Nepal in the process of conducting the election.
