Oli ridicules reported ban on leaving Kathmandu Valley

BHAKTAPUR: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Thursday mocked what he described as an absurd restriction barring him from traveling outside the Kathmandu Valley, questioning whether he was expected to flee out of fear of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Addressing a party gathering in Bhaktapur, Oli ridiculed the order allegedly limiting his movement beyond the Valley, calling it a political spectacle.

“What kind of drama is this?” he said. “They have said I cannot leave the Valley — not beyond the drainage boundary, perhaps. Is KP Oli supposed to run away in fear of Sushila Karki? What have they imagined?”

Oli’s remarks came in response to what he claimed was a politically motivated move by the government to restrict his activities outside Kathmandu. Using his characteristic humor and sarcasm, he accused the government of trying to create unnecessary drama instead of focusing on governance.
