Road caves in at Aanbukhaireni on Prithvi Highway

DAMAULI: A section of the road has caved in at Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-4 in Tanahun district along the Prithvi Highway. Following the incident, the Aanbukhaireni–Muglin road is being operated as a one-way route.

According to Police Inspector Tek Prasad Subedi of the Area Police Office in Aanbukhaireni, the road caved in around 4 p.m. on Saturday due to continuous rainfall. He said that police have been deployed on both sides of the affected section to manage the safe one-way movement of vehicles. However, he has urged motorists to avoid nighttime travel through the area, citing safety concerns.

The same stretch of road had previously caved in three years ago. After that incident, the authorities had cut into the hillside and built a retaining wall on the Marsyangdi River side. Police have confirmed that the road has now caved in again at the same location.
