22 injured as bus crashes in Kapilvastu



KAPILVASTU: At least 22 people were injured when a passenger bus en route to Kathmandu from Dhangadhi met with an accident in Kapilvastu on Saturday morning.

According to the District Police Office Kapilvastu, the bus (Na 1 Kha 5703) went out of control and crashed at Banaksabas in Shivraj Municipality-1 at around 6 am.

There were around 40 passengers on board, of whom 22 sustained injuries. The injured have been taken to Sanjivani Community Hospital in Chandrauta for treatment, police said.

The bus driver fled the scene after the accident and a search has been launched to locate him. Further details of the incident are awaited.
