PMO clarifies Sushila Karki has no social media accounts

KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has clarified that Prime Minister Sushila Karki does not operate any social media accounts.

In a press statement issued on Friday, office spokesperson Rabilal Sharma said no official Facebook, Twitter, or other social media accounts exist under the Prime Minister’s name.

The statement urged the public not to be misled by fake IDs posting under Karki’s name. “It has been found that fake accounts have been created in the Prime Minister’s name and are sharing posts and news. We request everyone not to be confused by such activities,” the notice read.

The Prime Minister’s Office also warned that those involved in creating or using such fraudulent accounts would face legal action under existing laws.
