Two girls drown in pond in Saptari



SAPTARI: Two girls drowned in a pond in Hardiya, Surunga Municipality-2, on Tuesday.

The victims have been identified as Sustika Chaudhary, 7, daughter of Surendra Chaudhary, and Ashki Chaudhary, 11, daughter of Keshar Chaudhary — both residents of the area.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Basnet, the girls drowned while bathing in the pond. Their bodies were recovered with the help of local residents after the incident was reported.

Police have launched an investigation to determine further details surrounding the tragedy.
