KATHMANDU: The Nepali national cricket team is set to fly to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday to take part in the upcoming Unity Cup T20I series against the West Indies A team.
The team received its UAE visas on Sunday, clearing the way for travel after initial delays due to visa approval issues. The series will be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from September 27 to 30.
Earlier, the team was scheduled to depart on Friday. However, the UAE had withheld visas in the wake of recent unrest in Nepal linked to the Gen-G movement. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) spokesperson Chhumbi Lama confirmed that all necessary travel documents have now been secured.
CAN has already announced the squad for the three-match T20I series, which marks a significant opportunity for Nepal to compete against an international side of high caliber.
