Authorities start survey of damage to ministerial residences in Bhaisepati



LALITPUR: Authorities have begun collecting preliminary data on the damage to federal ministerial residences, provincial chief and chief minister houses in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur, following arson during the recent Gen-Z protests.

According to the Federal Secretariat, a detailed report on the affected structures from the September 9 incident is expected within a week. Superintending Engineer Chakrawati Kanta confirmed that initial data collection has already started.

The federal ministerial complex, built on 96 ropani 10 aana of land in Bhaisepati and housing 27 modern facilities for federal ministers, the National Assembly Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was completely burned. The ministers had moved into the residences in June.

Similarly, provincial liaison offices constructed on 27 ropani 12 aana for the seven provincial chiefs and chief ministers also suffered fire damage.

Currently, the Nepali Army is providing security at the Bhaisepati ministerial residences and provincial liaison offices. Entry is restricted to family members with proper identification. The Federal Secretariat has stated that no cleaning or reconstruction work will proceed until the complete damage assessment is finalized.
