India likely to reduce import tariff on several US goods

NEW DELHI: India is likely to reduce import tariffs on select US goods.

The India government on October 21 is likely to hold an inter-ministerial meeting to reduce import tariffs, Indian media reports have said.

This will be India’s step towards resolving trade differences with the US, according to Indian media reports.

According to the report, the government is considering reducing import tariffs on frozen chicken cuts and bourbon whiskey.

The import tariff on bourbon whiskey, as reports suggest, may be reduced from 150 percent to just 30 percent.

Likewise, import tariffs on frozen chicken cuts could fall from 100 to 30 percent. (Agencies)
