Federal parliament secretariat collecting details of loss



KATHMANDU: The federal parliament secretariat has begun collecting details on the damages of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly buildings.

The parliament buildings and the furniture and equipment installed inside turned into ashes in the Gen-Z revolt.

Spokesperson at the parliament secretariat, Ekaram Giri, informed, “All infrastructures of parliament building at New Baneshwor gutted in fire set by the protestors.” He further said they were collecting details on the loss incurred by the damages of the property.

Giri said they were worried much while finding the main server, a significant asset in the parliament, perished in the arson.

Meanwhile, with the dissolution of the House of Representatives, 30 bills are rendered zilch. Some five bills are under consideration in the parliament.

The bill on citizenship passed by the parliament would be forwarded to the President.

However, the buildings of both the Houses of the parliament inside Singha Durbar are standing safe.
