KAVREPALANCHOK: The District Administration Office of Kavrepalanchok has extended the curfew in the district. The updated order, issued Thursday, enforces a restriction from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and again from 7 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday.
Signed by Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal, the curfew follows the decision of the District Security Committee and is implemented under the Local Administration Act. The order prohibits gatherings of more than five people, movement of individuals, demonstrations, rallies, and sit-ins throughout the district.
Essential services such as ambulances, fire trucks, hearses, vehicles carrying medicine, milk, and vegetables, as well as journalists, healthcare workers, tourists, and passengers with international flight tickets, will be allowed movement with facilitation from security personnel.
Earlier, the curfew had been repeatedly extended since Monday night at 10 p.m. and remained in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday. Following the administration’s orders, the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police have been deployed to maintain security across the district.
