DHADING: Tensions escalated at Dhading District Jail on Wednesday as smoke was seen rising from the prison premises, prompting a heavy deployment of security personnel outside the facility. Police were also stationed on the prison roof to maintain control.
The unrest comes after a wave of attacks on police posts during Gen Z protests led to inmates escaping from several prisons across the country. Reports suggest that prisoners at Dhading Jail attempted to break out and set fires in response to the chaos.
However, local sources confirmed that security forces have already cordoned off the prison, making any successful escape unlikely.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent further incidents.
