KATHMANDU: The Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army has urged citizens across the country to remain vigilant and to help prevent unwanted activities in society.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, the Army said that it, along with other security agencies, has been deployed round-the-clock to safeguard peace, security, and public order in the country. It called on communities to stay united and alert in order to address possible threats before security personnel arrive on the scene.
The statement further requested members of the public to immediately report any destructive or anarchic activities in their neighborhoods, such as looting, arson, or attempts to cause harm to life and property, by sending a message to the Army’s hotline number 9863029029.
The Army also cautioned against the spread of misleading content on social media, saying some unruly elements have been attempting to exaggerate situations and create fear among the public. It appealed to citizens to counter such behavior by sharing only accurate information from their respective areas.
