One killed in police firing during Itahari protest

SUNSARI: One person has died after police opened fire amid rising tensions following an arson attack on the Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City office by protesters.

The incident occurred when Gen-Z demonstrators, protesting against the government, set fire to the municipal office building in Itahari. Police fired shots while trying to control the situation, resulting in one fatality.

The arson caused significant damage to the office, with government documents, furniture, and other materials set ablaze outside the building.
