Army inside Parliament premises after protesters target building



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has entered the Parliament premises in New Baneshwor after protesters repeatedly targeted the compound, officials confirmed.

Although security of the Parliament is primarily under the responsibility of the Armed Police Force, the army was deployed as backup following the curfew order issued by the District Administration Office.

With the situation escalating, the army has now taken charge of security command inside the Parliament complex.
