Curfew imposed in Kathmandu’s Baneshwor area

KATHMANDU: A curfew order has been imposed in the Baneshwor area of Kathmandu, effective from 12:30 noon to 10:00 PM today. The order was issued by Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal.

According to the District Administration Office (DAO), the curfew was enforced following the “infiltration” of interest groups in the ‘Gen G’ demonstration.

The DAO stated that the curfew has been implemented under Section 6 of the Local Administration Act, 2028. During the curfew period, all forms of gatherings, processions, demonstrations, meetings, or other activities are strictly prohibited within the designated area.

Authorities have urged the general public to refrain from any movement within the curfew zone during the specified hours.
