Manang CDO directs security agencies to prioritize peace and safety ahead of by-election



CHAME: Chief District Officer (CDO) Nawaraj Paudel has instructed security agencies to give special priority to peace, security, and preparedness for the upcoming by-election in Manang. He issued the directive during inspections of subordinate offices this week.

During his visits to the District Police Office and the Nepal Armed Police Force No. 32 Gulm Headquarters in Chame, Paudel emphasized that all agencies must work with full commitment to ensure the successful completion of the election process.

While inspecting the newly constructed police facilities, he reviewed the conditions of the administration, crime investigation, management, communications, women and children’s unit, planning and investigation branch, citizen support desk, detention cells, police barracks, and staff accommodations.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Prasad Paudel presented a detailed briefing on peace and security in the district, crime investigations, record management, disaster response, traffic management, and election security preparations.

CDO Paudel directed security personnel to remain vigilant in maintaining order during the by-election and to work consistently to keep voter morale high. He stressed the importance of devising and implementing an effective security plan for the House of Representatives by-election in Manang Constituency-1, Provincial Assembly Constituency-2.

He also highlighted the need for focused efforts on crime control, disaster management, suicide and drug abuse prevention, ICT utilization, tourist safety, and facilitating development activities. Paudel remarked that police personnel have been carrying out their responsibilities with discipline, professionalism, and high morale.

Additionally, CDO Paudel inspected the Armed Police Force No. 32 Gulm, reviewing administrative, training, communication, financial management, operational units, barracks, and other infrastructures.

Deputy Superintendent of the Armed Police Force, Dhruva Regmi, presented updates on the district’s overall security situation, administrative and operational activities, disaster management strategies, border security challenges, future plans, and election-specific security measures.

On the occasion, CDO Paudel praised the Armed Police Force for its disciplined, professional, and organized conduct, expressing confidence that it would play an effective role in ensuring security during the upcoming by-election.
