KAPILVASTU: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has said that urea fertilizer will be available from India within the next 10 days.
Speaking at a program organized in Chandrauta today, Minister Adhikari said fertilizer imported from Kolkata would arrive within 10 days, ensuring easy access for farmers. He assured that there would be no shortage this time.
He also emphasized that fertilizer should be distributed based on the arable land and production capacity of each district. “Priority should be given to genuine farmers. We are aware that those cultivating large areas must not suffer financial losses due to fertilizer shortages,” he said.
Nepali Congress District President and Maharajgunj Municipality Mayor Abdul Kalam stressed the importance of making the government’s fertilizer distribution system more effective.
District Vice President of the same party, Umakanta Khanal, suggested the government develop a plan to provide fertilizer, seeds, and other agricultural inputs to farmers before the rainy season from next year.
