Four dead in SUV accident in Dadeldhura



DADELDHURA: At least four people were killed when an SUV veered off a rural road in Dadeldhura district on Thursday morning.

According to police, the vehicle (registration number Se 1 Ja 738) was traveling from Thada Bazaar toward the district headquarters when it skidded off the Chaund section of the unpaved road in Nawadurga Rural Municipality-5.

Deputy Chief of the District Police Office, Inspector Dambar Bista, said the jeep plunged nearly 500 meters into a forested area. A police team that reached the site confirmed that four bodies had been recovered so far.

The victims have not yet been identified. Police said the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Several others were reported injured, though the exact number is still uncertain. Rescue efforts are ongoing, and the injured have been taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment.
