KATHMANDU: The United States has handed over modern forensic equipment and related technology to Nepal Police to strengthen its investigative and crime detection capacity.

In a ceremony held on Wednesday, US Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson handed over the equipment to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in the presence of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa.

Speaking at the event, IGP Thapa said the advanced tools and technology would enhance the capacity of the laboratory and make its services more effective in supporting criminal investigations.

Ambassador Thompson expressed confidence that the US support would bolster Nepal Police’s forensic capabilities, particularly in crime investigation and in identifying missing persons.
