NEPSE edges up 4.83 points, trading volume drops sharply



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) gained 4.83 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,766.09.

Despite the rise, overall market turnover fell significantly by more than NPR 1.5 billion. Tuesday’s transactions amounted to Rs 4.18 billion, down from Rs 5.75 billion yesterday.

Out of the listed companies, 101 saw their share prices increase, 149 declined, while one remained unchanged.

Most sectoral indices posted modest gains. The “Others” group led the rally with a 1.42% increase, while other sectors recorded changes of less than 1%. Banking rose by 0.14%, Development Bank by 0.96%, Finance by 0.12%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.17%, Hydropower by 0.07%, Life Insurance by 0.06%, and Trading by 0.11%.

Meanwhile, four sectors ended in the red: Manufacturing & Processing dipped 0.68%, Microfinance dropped 0.48%, Investment fell 0.10%, and Non-life Insurance also declined by 0.10%.
