NPL second edition scheduled for November-December

KATHMANDU: The second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament will be held in Mangsir this year, according to a press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Thursday.

The competition is scheduled from November 17 to December 13 (Mangsir 1 to 27). A mini-auction for players has already been completed.

Following the success of the first edition held from Mangsir 15 to Poush 6 last year, the second edition has drawn significant attention. The NPL currently features eight franchises: Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gorkhas, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Sudurpaschim Royals, and Karnali Yaks.

The inaugural title was won by Janakpur Bolts. Ahead of the second edition, preparations are underway at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, including upgrades to the parapet and other facilities.
