UML attempts to block Bidya Devi Bhandari’s participation in Morang event

BIRATNAGAR: The CPN-UML reportedly tried to prevent former President Bidya Devi Bhandari from attending a party-related program in Morang.

Parshuram Basnet, the in-charge of Biratnagar Metropolitan and a loyalist of UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, allegedly instructed party workers via social media to avoid the event. Basnet claimed that no official program had been scheduled at the UML district office and urged cadres not to be misled by promotions suggesting Bhandari’s participation.

Despite these efforts by the party establishment, large numbers of cadres gathered to welcome Bhandari at the district office and Biratnagar airport.
